Shinz Design is an RIBA Chartered Practice providing both architectural and interior design services to both private residential and commercial clients. As the winner of the 2016 Global Excellence Awards & 2016 Excellence Awards – Most Outstanding Conversion Company, Director Yihyi Hwang talks us through the firm and how its dedication to excellence has helped it to achieve its current success.
Founded over seven years ago, Shinz Design draws on this vast industry experience and the dedication and passion of its leadership to provide bespoke design services customised for the particular requirements of each project to obtain planning permission, working as lead consultant to provide production information for tender purposes followed by contract administration for construction work under traditional procurement. In addition, the firm also work under other procurement routes depending on the project and client particular requirement and setting out of the projects. Yihyi discusses the firm’s growth over the years and how this has helped the firm to support clients across a wide range of projects. “Since inception Shinz Design has established a base office and has been growing the portfolio of projects on a consistent basis. Whilst we now take on medium to high value schemes, the practice also occasionally takes on small one off projects where we feel that we can being a mundane scheme to something special. By keeping this balance Shinz is growing as a practice whilst remaining rooted in the core elements of the practice philosophy.

“Through this mix of skill sets we are not only able to visualise and help our clients to create amazing spaces tailored to their needs but also assist in realising these within the particular project constraints. We often come across other practices who whilst coming up with creative proposals are unable to actually realise these in the built environment and are sometimes their vision and not the clients; this we feel is our strength and the core of our business.”
Offering bespoke designs tailored to meet the individual needs of the client means focusing on collaborating with them and communicating with them throughout the project in order to ensure that the overall outcome is exactly what they desire, as Yihyi explains.
“Fundamentally Shinz Design believe that each project is unique. We focus on listening to the client’s needs including their lifestyle, budget and to create a bespoke brief based on these requirements. It is an interesting part of a project and one which is extremely important to us as it establishes a working relationship and the focus to the project which can sometimes otherwise be lost.
“As a bespoke practice the best way for us to communicate is face to face. Clients are always welcome to get in touch with us regarding a project of any scale and we will be happy to discuss your requirements and see if we can assist in delivering a bespoke, cost effective and suitable construction project.”
In order to build upon the phenomenal success, the company has enjoyed over the past twelve months it will be launching a new website shortly in order to showcase the latest projects and its past work, as Yihyi concludes.
